To ALL Dog Walkers .....

It is lambing season and I would like to remind all dog walkers to please keep their dogs on leads during this time. Dogs that are allowed to chase pregnant sheep can often cause distress in the ewe causing the sheep to sadly abort the lambs.

We are lucky enough to be able to walk our dogs in the field next to Percy Thrower’s Avenue – commonly called the’ dog field.’ Currently the whole field is used as a dog walking area this is only a ‘permissive’ footpath – i.e allowed by the farmer. It is important that we maintain a good relationship with the landowner by treating his livestock with respect.

It is worth remembering that dog owners are also responsible for any damages caused to livestock.
